Mr. Marstiller’s other  hobbies have included sailing the Chesapeake Bay, as well as “blue water sailing.” Mr. Marstiller has sailed throughout the Chesapeake Bay on his 38.1 Benneteau sailboat “Wye Knot.” In his last blue water sailing adventure, Mr. Marstiller sailed from Newport, Rhode Island to Deltaville, Virginia. At times, Mr. Marstiller was 200 miles into the Atlantic on a 42 ft. Island Packett sailboat.

Another hobby is long distance running and he has completed several marathons and triathlons. In his last triathlon, Mr. Marstiller was the oldest competitor, and at age 55.  Before his last marathon, it was estimated that Mr. Marstiller had run 23,800 miles.  At age 49, Mr. Marstiller completed the rigorous Outward Bound course in the Harvard Mountain range, in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, climbing two (2) 14,000 foot peaks and running a half marathon at an elevation of 8,000 feet.  Mr. Marstiller also passed the Navy Seal fitness regimen at age 60.
